Book your room at the Best Western Plus Villa del Lago and you’ll be within a short drive of the smashing events we’ve outlined for you below. For the Literary Buffs

Head down to St. Pauls Episcopal Church on February 4 for the 5th Annual Modesto Poetry Festival. There you’ll find poetry workshops, be able to listen to live readings from professional poets, and get your fill at a tasty luncheon. All in all, this is a great way to experience the great cultural scene that runs through Stanislaus County. Who knows, you might be a poet and you don’t yet know it…

From Russia...With Music

It gets no better than this. The Gallo Center for the Arts, one of the area's leading cultural institutions, will be hosting a special night of Russian classical music on February 10, with works from Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky. Prepared to be amazed as you're treated to the stories that are woven into Russian music. They’ll also be a GRAMMY nominated artist on stage, Jennifer Frautschi, who will be joined by David Lockington and select players from the Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra.

The Perfect Day

The 8th Annual Modesto Movie and Wine Matinee will be taking place at the State Theatre in Modesto on February 12. Head down to watch the film Running with Jim before a Q&A and wine session after it’s over.
